Meet Charles Jay

Charles Jay was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer at the age of 2. After having surgical removal of his right kidney and undergoing chemotherapy treatment he stands today a cancer survivor of 26 years. In 2015 he decided to feed his desire to become a fashion Designer and put his unique style to the test.

He started the Athlux brand "URBANE By Charles Jay" , which URBANE, by definition means "the reflecting of elegance or sophistication especially in expression". Charles attempts to tell his story through his designs by uses of symbolization. Each symbol on the products stands for something. Whether it's the "93" which was the year he was diagnosed with cancer or the "Foundation" Color Blocks which have become a staple point for the brand. 

5 years in and Charles Jay has landed features with Philly Fashion Week, Huffington Post, High-Voltage Fashion Magazine, UK Based Anti-Fashion Magazine, 6 ABC, & much more. 

Charles has aspirations to be the next major designer in the industry, but focusing on the purpose behind his products as the driving point for the designer. Coming soon are a Wrist-wear Line, Eye-Wear Line & Footwear Designs.


The Designer Launched his giveback program "PROJECT SURVIVOR" where a portion of proceeds from the brand will go towards creating amazing experience for someone who is fighting cancer or survived it. The mission for Charles as a designer has always been to inspire millions of people and he believes this is one way to uplift those fighting for their lives.
